London Food Month at Hippo Inns

“London is unquestionably the greatest eating city on earth” Tom Parker Bowles, Creative Director

Well Tom, we can’t argue with you there! London Food Month is major new food festival from London Evening Standard. Held annually from June 2017 and curated by creative directors Grace Dent and Tom Parker Bowles; it is a month-long celebration of food filled with over 400 events across the capital. We’re getting involved hosting fantastically foodie events at four of our Hippo watering holes.

Come get your Oompah ON as we celebrate London Food Month with live music, tank beer and a Bavarian feast! The Eagle will be welcoming in the summer by feasting Bavarian style with beer on tap, crispy pork knuckles & whole fish on the bone.

We will be working with a collection of farmers & local producers to prepare the perfect picnic luncheon at The Duke of Sussex. Choose from a selection of locally sourced spit roast/BBQ meats & fish, artisan cured meat & cheese, fresh sauces & bowls of healthy seasonal salads. You will be able to “meet the makers” and there might even be a Sussex Spritz’s bar serving up some cocktails on the house to ensure you are watered as well as fed.

The Great British Pub celebrates Great British Produce in partnership with The Islington Food Assembly.

“The Food Assembly Supper Club” will be a 4 course menu with optional wine pairing. Each dish will showcase the produce created/grown by the artisan producers/farmers that work with the Islington food assembly. The menu will be created by The Town House Head Chef Eddie Surrador & you will have the opportunity to meet the makers who will introduce their products and explain their journey.
